The swimming meet was organized by Energy Standard Club with the support of the Italian Swimming Federation (FIN) and was a qualifying event for the World Aquatics Championships 2017 in Budapest and the III Youth Olympic Games 2018 in Buenos Aires.
A total of 160 athletes competed in the event from the teams of Italy, Energy Standard Club, Germany and Spain.
Age groups of the participants:
“Youth” - boys 2001-2002 and younger and girls 2002-2003 and younger
“Junior” - boys 1999–2000 and girls 2000–2001
Among the event’s featured guests of honor were Paolo Barelli - President of the Italian Swimming Federation and European Aquatics Honorary Secretary of FINA, Dmytro Kachurovskiy - President of Ukrainian Swimming Federation, Emilis Vaitkaitis - President of Lithuanian Swimming Federation, Korotyshkin Evgeny - President of Moscow Swimming Federation, the Head of anti-doping committee of Russian Swimming Federation, Olympic Silver medalist in London 2012, 3x World Champion, 7x European Champion, 2x World record holder, Milorad Cavic - Olympic Silver medalist in Beijing 2008, World Champion in Rome 2009, 7x European Champion, 2x World record holder.
